Como todos los años, el Sindicato de Actores ha revelado a los nominados para los galardones al mejor desempeño en el séptimo arte a lo largo de 2019, mismos que se entregarán el 19 de enero en el auditorio Shrine, en la ciudad de Los Ángeles. Así pues, y con cuatro nominaciones para cada uno, los largometrajes que más se destacaron fueron Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, The Irishman y Bombshell, todas reconocidas por reunir a un importante ensamble de actores en estado de gracia. No obstante, la dirigida por Martin Scorsese se quedó sin la categoría de Mejor Actor, coincidiendo con los Globos de Oro en la ausencia de Robert De Niro (Heat, The Godfather 2) ¿Llegará a ser parte de la carrera por el Oscar?

En la pantalla chica, quien se llevó la mayor cantidad de nominaciones fue la aclamada The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, mientras que The Morning Show, The Crown y Stranger Things también estuvieron entre las reconocidas. Al igual, Watchmen se quedó únicamente en la categoría de Mejor Equipo de Dobles de Acción, misma en la que también se coló The Walking Dead y GLOW. Llama la atención lo que sucedió con John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, pues perdió sus oportunidades de ser reconocida por sus impresionantes stunts contra Avengers Endgame y Joker, aunque puede que el galardón finalmente se lo lleve -y de manera muy merecida- la fantástica Ford v Ferrari.
